This Privacy Policy explains how Mintz Trading, LLC, doing business as “Chat with Sol” (“Chat with Sol,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you use our websites, applications, and related services (the “Service”). It should be read together with our Terms of Service & Disclaimer. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
Chat with Sol is a nutrition and fitness coaching service operated by Mintz Trading, LLC, based in Cook County, Illinois, United States. This Policy applies to personal information we process through the Service. It does not apply to third-party services we do not control.
Information you provide.
Information collected automatically. When you use the Service, we and our providers may automatically collect limited technical data such as device and browser type, IP address, general location inferred from IP, and usage information, and we store small amounts of data in your browser (for example, your theme preference and session), as described in Section 8.
Information from third parties. We receive your basic profile information from Google when you sign in. We do not receive your Google password.
We use your information to: (a) provide, operate, personalize, and improve the Service, including generating coaching, plans, and estimates tailored to you; (b) maintain your account and secure the Service; (c) communicate with you about the Service; (d) analyze usage to improve features and reliability; (e) comply with law and enforce our Terms; and (f) protect the rights, safety, and property of you, us, and others. We may create and use de-identified or aggregated information, which does not identify you, for any lawful purpose.
To generate responses, plans, and estimates, we send relevant information — such as your messages, a summary of your profile and recent logs, and images you capture — to our third-party AI provider, which processes them to return a response. We share only what is needed to provide the feature you requested. As explained in the Terms, AI output is an estimate and may be inaccurate; you should verify anything important.
When you use the camera to scan a food, menu, or barcode, the image is sent for analysis to return a nutrition estimate or recommendations, and that scan image is not stored by us — only the resulting estimate you choose to log is saved. Progress photos you choose to save are stored in a private storage location accessible only through your authenticated account, and are never posted publicly or used to advertise. You can delete saved photos, and deleting your data removes them.
We do not collect, capture, store, or use “biometric identifiers” or “biometric information” as defined by the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA). The camera analyzes photos of food, menus, and barcodes (and optional progress photos you choose to save) to estimate nutrition — it does not scan or use your facial geometry, fingerprints, retina or iris, voiceprint, or hand or face geometry, and we do not use images to identify you.

We and our providers use cookies and similar browser storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences such as light or dark mode, secure the Service, and understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect how the Service works.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can delete your logged data using the reset option in your profile, and you can request deletion of your account and associated data as described in Section 9.
You can view and edit much of your information directly in the Service, sign out at any time, and use the reset option to erase your logged data. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls that scope stored data and photos to your authenticated account. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Service processes information related to your diet, activity, and weight. We are not a “covered entity” or “business associate” under the U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and information you provide to the Service is generally not “protected health information” under HIPAA. We nonetheless handle this information in accordance with this Policy. Chat with Sol does not provide medical advice; see our Terms.
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Users aged 13 to 17 may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, as described in our Terms. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We operate the Service in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Effective” date above and provide reasonable notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
